Despite the fact that I can’t really draw a thing, I used to paint relatively well (so I heard :D), and when I saw this sketch of an Ent by Dilson Monteiro, I thought “man, I need to colorize this”. It took me 2 days to finish the paint and it was quite successful, making top row on CGtalk and being printed in the first edition of Ballistic’s Exposé book (as long as another painting of mine). I still think this piece is pretty decent.

I wonder where did all this painting skills go… I can’t do this anymore. Damn…

I was contacted by Artistic iMage to recreate my Hulk as John Abraham, from the Atlanta Falcons, for a Ford campaign.
The model was used to produce a miniature that will be distributed in the initial game (10.000 copies!!!).
A cinematic version for a web animation had to be produced as well and because I had less than a week for the whole thing, I called a friend of mine to help with the baking/texturing.
The video can be seen ONCE at www.atlantafalcons.com (but you can always delete your cookies and see it again, hehe)

Note that the only thing that came from the original Hulk was the feet and arms, everything else was remodeled and, because I needed a neutral model for animation, the statue was reposed.

A cinematic Centaur for a TV spot celebrating 30 years of a health care company.

As it barely appears in the video, I made this render by myself.
Doesn’t look like the final version thou, heh.

You can see it around 0:26 in the video below.

Low poly rendered with normals + textures.
Hand-painted tail and tatoo were added in photoshop.

High/low/normals/AO/displace and textures by me.

Whole work took about 2 months using my free time.
Base meshes in XSI.
Retopology done in topogun.
Posing in zbrush using zsphere rigging.
Total number of polygons: 9,9 mi

I started texturing it, but i’m still learning the secrets :)

I’d like to share that this Hulk was featured on Zbrush Central and 3Dtotal top rows. I also received the “3DTotal Excellence Award” for being featured on their gallery, and the “Platinum Eye”, which is a great honor. They only give this award 1 to 2 times a year.
I was also featured on july’s edition of 3DCreative Magazine’s gallery as well at the Pixologic’s gallery.

I got this model printed for this year’s Siggraph by Offload Studios. They did an impressive job and some images of the statue can be seen by clicking on the image below. Some more images of the piece at the Pixologic Booth on Siggraph can be seen at their website as well.
And I heard that a copy of the Hulk is being made for the Pixologic office in LA, heh
